Resource Overview

The site has been designed to provide a resource base for stimulating textual and audio visual materials on the subject of teaching race and ethnicity. The materials are freely available for students, academics and researchers, within the restrictions of fair use within Higher Education. Resources are provided as a means of encouraging further contributions to the site, be it single images, essays, other documents, or video material. Please see our contributors section for more information.

We have separated out the content of this resource section into 3 main areas:

  • presentation and text files (on this page below)
  • image files - a collection of images and examples of use
  • video files - a collection of videos clips
  • c-sap resources - material linked from the c-sap website

Future work. As we accumulate more resources we will be building a more comprehensive search and browse facility across the website, linking up related material across all categories.

PowerPoint Presentations and Text Documents

As one way of disseminating teaching ideas around the themes of race and ethnicity, the presentations below contain material which you are welcome to download and adapt or re-purpose for your own teaching.

One example of re-use

As an example of how the presentation files can be repurposed, the embedded presentation below has been uploaded in slideshare.net, a "Web 2.0" site which allows you to upload and share various formats of presentation files.

Slideshare then gives you the code to embed the presentation; you can make it private or public within the slideshare website and attach tags (keywords) which begin to link your presentation to other files within slideshare. This could help to build up a useful personal resource of material, or it could offer one way of engaging groups of students with small research tasks as part of a course or module.

If you do use these materials, we would greatly appreciate any feedback about how useful the resources were.
